Eco-Sal is an award-winning eco-friendly eCommerce store that provides plastic-free alternatives to green consumers across the UK. Sal wanted to focus on making the planet more sustainable but needed help with its SEO. We were tasked with increasing traffic, sales, and speed.
Eco-Sals rankings had potential, but previous generic SEO strategies led to declining traffic and sales over the years.
Our video review identified unoptimised category and product pages along with a various on-page errors. Hosting 400+ products on Wix offered some performance issues affecting rankings and user experience. A switch to a better eCommerce platform wasn’t possible, so we aimed to optimise within Wix’s constraints.
The Conscious Vision team were able to:

- Bring in 4,000 more clicks
- Overtake Amazon, Bodyshop and other competitors for keywords such as “Vegan Body Butter” and “Plastic Free Shower Gel”, to name a few.
- Double the search position and increase clicks by 4,000 compared to the previous year.
Here’s how we did it:
✅ We sent out a survey to Eco-Sals mailing list to learn more about them. From this, we discovered what drove them to purchase from Sal and the kinds of items they would like to see more of.
✅ We created pillar blog content to compete with competitors and ended up number 1 for “best plastic-free products”, which brought in more of Eco-Sals target audience.
✅ We optimised the website for conversions and added more defined category pages to make it easy for traffic to find what they were looking for. These defined category pages also helped target specific keywords.
✅ Updated schema so products displayed reviews and ratings. This increased the click-through rate in the search engines and, ultimately, sales.

✅ We restructured the page titles, headlines, and content for the top-priority pages.
✅ We used TF-IDF techniques to add any missing semantic words to product listings.
✅ We compressed images across the website in order to reduce the load time and speed things up. Wix claims that they compress images already, but we believed we could make it perform even better. (and we were correct)
As you can imagine, Eco-Sal was over the moon with the increase in revenue and a full ROI.
They no longer need to worry about their Google rankings or try to learn SEO themselves. Instead, they prioritise new sustainable products, which boosts their impact on reducing plastic use.
